Thought of the Day:
People will always be more violently opposed to the wearing of fur than of leather for the simple reason that it’s far safer to harass rich women than biker gangs
Honda Club Minutes
2-14-10
Attendance: 32
Treasurer’s Report: Teresa reported for Gabe. All bills have been paid and all deposits have been made. An adequate balance remains in the checking account.
Secretary’s Report: January minutes stand as printed in the news letter.
New Business:
Group outing to the Rush hockey game on Feb. 16th is arranged; please get your ticket money to Bob Garcia. Bob moved to buy a club banner to display at the hockey game, but Dave Gibson said that we have two HRCA banners left from previous years. Doug will obtain a banner from Dave to have available at the hockey game.
2010 ride calendar was created at the planning meeting on Feb. 10th at the Golden Corral. Viv reviewed the dates. Our first ride will be on May 11th to Lintz Bros. Pizza; this ride replaces our traditional evening at the Rockin’R, which has closed. All rides will leave from Rice Honda unless otherwise noted. A draft of the calendar will be included in the March newsletter. There is still time to submit ideas for rides.
Spring Bike Show at Civic Center: Doug would like to have a booth at the show, which is April 9-11. Table could be set up with club brochures and membership applications; he would also like to have a variety of bikes displayed around the table. Bikes would need to be there by 5pm on Friday, April 9th. Bob Garcia offered to display his bike.
Viv suggested we create our own ride calendar with advertising, which could pay for the printing. To do this, we would have to plan our 2011 rides in Sept of this year. The calendar could also be available at future bike shows, and at Rice Honda. Members liked the idea.
50/50: Don Rice won $21.
White elephant: Deb Knapp won the wee one.
Don Rice said that if the club needs to have a special meeting in the future, the Celtic Hall will be avai.lable.
